The mission for Career & Technical Education at Northeast Metro 916 is to deliver relevant, quality technical education by providing career exploration and preparation for employment and continuing education in cooperation with member districts and employers.
More than 1,100 high school juniors and seniors participate in programs offered at the Career & Technical Center, which is housed on the East Campus of Century College. Students have the opportunity to earn high school elective credit and Graduation Standard credit, as well as college credit and advanced standing in post-secondary institutions.
Northeast Metro 916 offers support to member districts hosting "satellite" career & technical programs in high schools throughout the northeast metro area. These programs are taught in area high schools and open to students from neighboring schools. Member districts may also access funding for local career & technical programs through participation in the Perkins Consortium.
Northeast Metro 916 is one of three intermediate school districts in Minnesota, serving approximately 4,000 students through shared programming that includes career and technical education, special education services, area learning centers and elementary education.
