Strategic Actions

Northeast Metro 916 is held accountable to strategic action goals by measuring the success of each of the annual benchmarks. There are 26 benchmarks for the current school year (2023-24). The annual benchmarks are reviewed and refined by the 916 Cabinet and the Strategic Action Advisory and are approved by the Northeast Metro 916 School Board. The following are our strategic actions defined.

Strategic Action

 

The 916 student experience is at the center of everything we do. We want to see happy and proud students walking our hallways. Creating the Conditions for Student Success is implementing the vision for student learning with a guaranteed and viable standards-based curriculum, evidence-based instruction aligned to the needs of our students, and student-centered learning. We are focusing on building leadership and instructional capacity around these three areas.

 

Strategic Action


Equity, removing the systemic barriers to student success, is a core component of all of our work and is necessary to maximize the potential of each individual student, staff, and family. We believe equity is a continuous and challenging process in which we must work to recognize and reduce assumptions and biases to understand the needs and potential of those we support. We are dedicated to fully engaging with others about our differences and deepening conversations around dignity, inclusion, and culture. We are committed to using equity to guide all interactions, decisions, and instruction.

 

Strategic Action

 

Professional Support and Development is growing capacity to support student success. Regardless of their role or the site where they work, our staff are changing lives. It can sometimes be hard to remember the aspects of our students or our jobs that keep us here: resilience, perseverance, hope, progress, joy, and the opportunity to make a difference. We want to build lasting careers and relationships and a belief that all students and staff have incredible potential that needs to be nurtured. When we can create a school and district culture built to last, it will positively impact our staff and students

Recruitment and Retention is building tomorrow's team: unlocking potential and fostering growth. In today's rapidly evolving educational landscape, 916's success hinges on attracting, nurturing, and retaining exceptional educators and staff members. This comprehensive strategic action is designed to build recruitment and retention efforts within 916 to ensure a top-notch educational experience for our students.
