Two Northeast Metro 916 programs that operated in the 2019-20 school year have been discontinued over the summer.

Karuna was a small school program located within the Emily Program’s Woodbury location, where students were able to engage in academics while receiving treatment for eating disorders. The Emily Program closed the Woodbury clinic in August because of low placement. They have several other clinic locations around the state, and those with academic components are operated by other school districts.

The Sunflower Learning Center was an early childhood program that served students ages 3-5 who were struggling to be successful in their preschool or childcare setting due to their mental health symptoms and behaviors. The program was deemed unsustainable, and the funding has been redirected so that our ALC programs could add a social worker to their staff.
