We had an incredible time at the fifth annual 916 Career and College Fair! Students from East View Academy, Metro Heights Academy, 916 Mahtomedi Academy, Quora Secondary School, and WELS attended the event.

Students were able to talk to industry and college leaders from around the metro. A few of the tables had interactive tools from their careers, like a court reporter or a VR program for painting. Students also had the opportunity to attend panels from career professionals. #916happyandproud

Students did a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) lesson on cooking and culture with a focus on African American cuisine and the influence it has on the culinary world. The meal consisted of dirty rice, corn bread, honey hot wing/buffalo wings, and Kool Aid. The students presented facts on their dish and how it contributed to African American culture.
