Metro Heights Academy is an Area Learning Center (ALC) designed to help students achieve their educational and career goals in a nontraditional learning environment. We offer a comprehensive and rigorous high school curriculum delivered within a personalized, flexible, and nurturing environment. Students receive assistance in meeting graduation requirements and have opportunities to gain vocational skills and work experience.

Our approach 

We focus on a well-rounded school program where students:

• Accelerate their learning and have many options for demonstrating their knowledge of a subject
• Experience rigorous and personalized instruction that challenges them in a compassionate way
• Have opportunities for on-site, technology-enhanced learning, and traditional classroom learning
• Work at a customized pace to reach their goals
• Earn high school credit regardless of any gaps in school attendance

Metro Heights Academy is not currently enrolling new students. Completed applications will be reviewed in the order received, with priority given to students attending Columbia Heights and Spring Lake Park starting Nov 4, 2024.  Applicants are advised to remain enrolled in their current high schools or seek other alternative options.
