Special Education

Students who have complex disabilities require unique resources to learn and grow. The Office of Special Education collaborates with member districts to provide students with specialized schools and services to meet their needs. We provide structured, safe learning environments that address students' academic, social, emotional, behavioral, and communication needs.

Northeast Metro 916 works closely with families, children, member districts, community agencies, the county, and the state to provide programs that help children with disabilities reach their fullest potential.

Each student has an individualized education plan (IEP) through assessment and evaluation information. The IEP integrates learning and support services and outlines how the student will receive services. We provide a full array of special education services to member districts. Some services are provided within the student's home school district; others are supplied at Northeast Metro 916's sites.
