Connie Hayes has 34 years in public education, which have taken her to all four corners of the state. Her experience ranges from school psychology, special education coordination, curriculum, and the superintendency. In 2004 Springsted Incorporated tapped her on the shoulder and asked her to "retire" from her job as superintendent at LaCrescent-Hokah to join their company. She spent two great years at Springsted, determined to prove the skill set she had developed in the public sector would translate to success in the private sector. Ultimately, a game of musical chairs landed Connie back in the saddle at Northeast Metro 916 Intermediate School District in White Bear Lake in 2006, where she is thoroughly enjoying her unique superintendent job that involves ever-changing multiple partnerships and innovative initiatives. Connie holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and health education, as well as a Master of Arts in school psychology from Minnesota State University Moorhead. She earned a 6th year certificate in educational leadership from Minnesota State University Mankato.
