Overview of Title IX
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX) is a federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination based on sex in all education programs and activities operated by recipients of federal funds. Sex discrimination includes sexual harassment, sexual assault, and other sexual misconduct. The district does not discriminate based on sex in the educational programs and activities that it operates, and it is required by Title IX and 34 C.F.R. Part 106 not to discriminate in such a manner.

Filing a Complaint
Per School Board Policy #522, a formal complaint filed by a complainant must be a physical document or an electronic submission. The formal complaint must contain the complainant’s physical or digital signature or otherwise indicate that the complainant is the person filing the formal complaint and must be submitted to the Title IX Coordinator in person, by mail, or by email.
